Dr. Taylor Sublett
DNP, PMHNP-BC
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
- Clinical Director, Draper
Bio
Dr. Taylor Sublett obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Utah Valley University. While working as an RN, she picked up on the need for more mental health support both in and out of the hospital setting. She decided to focus on mental health and returned to school to pursue her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a specialization in psychiatric/mental health nursing (PMHNP) at the University of Utah.
Dr. Sublett’s time working as an RN in intensive care, emergency, and disaster response made the transition to the SLC VA as a PMHNP the logical next step. As a veteran herself, Dr. Sublett is very passionate about veteran mental health.
She has worked in depth with veterans and patients with PTSD, ADHD, depression, and anxiety. She enjoys taking a more creative approach to mental wellness, and her love of teaching means every patient leaves their appointment with a good understanding of their diagnoses and treatments.
From the Provider
I have a rule to never suggest patients do things that I wouldn’t do myself! For my own mental health, I regularly move my body, spend time with friends and family, go to sleep at a reasonable time, and eat my veggies every day.
I love to travel, buy cookbooks where I visit, and make that food when I get back home. It makes the vacation last just a little bit longer!
I want to figure out what my patient’s goals are, and then help them find the best path forward. Collaboration is highly encouraged, as is a whole-person approach. Medication is just one part of a whole web of treatment options!
