Megan Konopacke, MS, FNP-C

Family Nurse Practitioner

Megan earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Case Western Reserve University before graduating with her master’s degree from Georgetown University as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2021.

Megan spent the majority of her bedside nursing career working in Cardiac Surgery ICU and COVID ICUs. Helping patients and their family members through some of the most difficult times in their lives really inspired Megan to focus her career on supporting her patients’ mental health needs. Megan began her Nurse Practitioner career serving as a provider at a residential treatment center caring for adolescents and adults with eating disorders. She has loved being present to see the growth in her patient’s journeys while battling these pervasive mental illnesses.

Megan’s recent experience has resulted in a strong passion for helping those suffering from eating disorders including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, body dysmorphic disorder, and ARFID. She believes that utilizing a multidisciplinary approach encompassing medication management, therapy, dietary, and medical care offers the best chance for recovery. Megan also has experience in treating anxiety, depression, insomnia, and bipolar disorder. Recently, she has developed a strong interest in incorporating research on the gut-brain connection as a therapeutic tool in treating not only eating disorders but anxiety as well.

I believe in the importance of taking care of my own mental health in order to support others around me. By utilizing food as fuel, I find I have the energy to engage in regular physical activities that I love, which results in my body releasing endorphins in return. I believe in practicing self-compassion and self-care by listening to my body’s needs and giving myself permission to rest and recharge when I need it.  l truly feel my best when I’m surrounded by friends and family and work to achieve balance in my work and personal life.

I really enjoy connecting with nature and challenging myself in the outdoors by hiking, trail running, and skiing. My dad was a ski jumper, and while I haven’t hurled myself off the jumps, I have been an avid downhill skier ever since I was a little kid.

Being relatively new to Utah, I have had the best time exploring all that the local national parks and mountains have to offer.

I am a huge football fan and have so much fun traveling to different stadiums across the country to cheer on my Cleveland Browns.

I recently rescued a very hyper one-year-old husky and have loved having a four-legged hiking buddy.

I love being in the kitchen and am cooking my way through the second Half Baked Harvest cookbook (and my dog is really profiting off all my failed attempts).

My treatment approach is centered around ‘cura personalis’ or caring for the whole person. This strategy allows me to provide holistic and comprehensive care that considers all aspects of a person’s mental, physical, and social well-being. I recognize that each person is unique, and by truly taking the time to listen, I am able to develop a unique treatment plan with my clients tailored to achieve their personal goals.
