Bio

Andrea believes that being trusted with someone’s mental health is a sacred responsibility. She knows that reaching out for help can take courage, especially when you may not know where to start or how to explain what you’re experiencing. She strives to create a space where people feel heard, understood, and accepted for who they are—without judgment.
Andrea has her own lived experience with mental health, which has given her a deeper understanding of how difficult it can be to navigate these challenges. She believes these experiences have helped her meet patients with greater empathy and compassion and remind her that every person who walks through her door has a story that deserves to be heard.
Andrea earned her Master’s degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing and her undergraduate degree in Nursing from the University of Utah. She has worked in mental healthcare since 2008, beginning her career at Valley Behavioral Health. Her experience includes children’s residential treatment, eating disorder treatment, substance use disorder treatment, and outpatient mental health care. She has worked with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns.

Andrea specializes in treating eating disorders and disordered eating, as well as a variety of other psychiatric conditions. She understands that mental health is rarely just one thing. Sleep, hormones, physical health, relationships, stress, nutrition, past experiences, and life circumstances can all affect how we feel.

Her approach to care is rooted in seeing the whole person. Andrea combines psychiatric medication management with evidence-based therapeutic approaches. She believes the best care starts with listening, understanding what is truly going on, and working together to create a plan that fits the individual—not simply treating a diagnosis.

Andrea is also passionate about helping clinicians continually grow their knowledge and skills. As part of her role at LÉVO, she has developed LÉVO Academy as a space for ongoing clinical education, collaboration, and professional development. She believes excellent patient care requires clinicians to remain curious, keep learning, stay connected to current research and best practices, and continually develop as providers.

Most importantly, Andrea wants her patients to know that they don’t have to have everything figured out before they seek help. You don’t have to know exactly what’s wrong or what you need. That’s what we’re here to figure out together.

From the Provider

I’ve found that supporting my own mental health involves a variety of things. Moving my body, getting enough sleep, spending time outdoors, journaling, and nourishing my body all play a role in how I feel. I believe mental health is influenced by the everyday choices we make, but I also know that sometimes we need more support. Asking for help is not a weakness—it is part of taking care of yourself.
