What are the Conference Objectives?

Education & Service Enhancement

To provide education, collaboration building, resource enhancements, and stigma reduction to create improvements in services and practices from prevention to intervention and recovery around substance use disorders.

Connecting Through Collaborative Networking

To familiarize participants with current policies, resources, and resource needs in an environment that facilitates interdisciplinary, collaborative networking.

Effective Tools for Meaningful Intervention

To provide and strengthen effective working tools to properly intervene in said issues on individual and system levels.

Collaborating to Fill Service Gaps

To provide a safe forum to identify system and service gaps and develop collaboratives from prevention to tertiary interventions and recovery to fill those gaps in all cultural and ethnic populations dealing with substance use issues.

Strategies for Growth and Healing

To develop strategies to promote the healthy growth and development of individuals more effectively in all developmental stages and various cultural/ethnic backgrounds who are dealing with issues of substance use, misuse, and abuse.

Who is the Fall Conference on Substance Use for?

This conference targets interdisciplinary participants from public and private sectors across all cultural and ethnic communities dealing with substance use and related issues. Special emphasis is placed on professionals in social work, psychology, counseling, marriage & family therapy, and nursing, as well as peers, students, and allied health workers, and those in emergency response, judiciary, education, and law enforcement.
