These experiences include working on a geriatric inpatient unit, two child and adolescent day treatment and residential programs, and as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner. She has a particular passion for supporting children, adolescents, and young adults, helping them navigate challenges and build resilience through compassionate, evidence-based care.
Shaina has taken a special interest in adults who experienced neglect or emotional, mental, and physical abuse during childhood. She understands the long-term impact of these experiences, which can manifest as depression, anxiety, PTSD, panic attacks, and other related symptoms.
From the Provider
Outside of my professional work, I prioritize personal wellness through consistent sleep habits, strength training, and other self-care practices. I value the mental health benefits of exercise and have developed a strong awareness of when I need to pause and recharge. As a parent of young children, I understand the importance of carving out time for myself to maintain balance and overall well-being.
In my free time, I enjoy cooking and exploring new recipes from different cultures. I have a particular interest in reading non-fiction books about neuroscience and how the brain works. I also love thrift shopping and yard sales, where I enjoy discovering unique vintage treasures. As a passionate collector, I participate in a sticker club and curate collections of vintage bookmarks and cards.
I am committed to creating a comfortable and nonjudgmental environment for every individual I work with. I strive to empower my clients to feel in control of their interviews and treatment plans while providing education and guidance to support informed decisions. I truly care for the well-being of my patients.
