We are excited to announce that Dr. Shawn Warren, DNP, PMHNP-BC has accepted the role as the Clinical Director of our LÉVO Kaysville location. With his combination of expertise, empathy, and dedication, he’s a wonderful addition to our team and a strong leader for patients and providers alike.
A Journey Fueled by Compassion and Experience
Dr. Warren’s path into mental health care began early. After earning his Bachelor of Science in Nursing, he served as a registered nurse at an inpatient psychiatric hospital in Idaho Falls, working with adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients during some of their most difficult times. His firsthand exposure to people in crisis inspired him to deepen his training. He went on to earn his Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Utah, specializing in psychiatric mental health.
Areas of Focus & Clinical Strengths
Throughout his career as a PMHNP, Dr. Warren has supported individuals facing co-occurring mental health struggles and addiction. While he treats a wide range of conditions, his highest interests and areas of strength include depression, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
Dr. Warren believes in treatment that is collaborative, holistic, and individualized. While medication can be a vital tool, he views it as one component of care—alongside therapy, lifestyle changes, and understanding each patient’s unique story.
Teaching & Mentorship
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Warren gives back through education. He serves part-time as faculty for the psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner program at Purdue Global University, teaching subjects such as neuroscience and psychopharmacology. He is committed to supporting the next generation of mental health providers, especially as the need for accessible care continues to grow.
Who Dr. Warren Is Outside the Office
Dr. Warren believes in practicing what he preaches. Healthy habits are part of how he shows up for his patients: time with family and friends, regular exercise, good sleep, and time outdoors are central to his own wellbeing. He especially loves being near the water—if he can, he’ll snorkel in any ocean or river he finds, even once adventuring in Alaska’s Kenai River.
